Last March, family members and close friends of the late Dr. David Kimche, former Israeli diplomat and treasured member of the Truman Institute board, gathered at the Truman Institute’s library to mark the donation of Dr. Kimche’s personal library to its shelves. Dr. Kimche’s widow, Dr. Ruth Kimche noted that the Truman library is now the only library in Israel to possess some of the titles in the collection. Former  ambassador and Truman Board chairman Moshe Arad discussed Dr. Kimche’s long affiliation with the Hebrew University while Prof. Moshe Maoz spoke about his lifelong friendship with ”Dave”, as Kimche was fondly known.
