Conversation between author Jumpa Lahiri and Dr. Chiara Caradonna about translating and writing

The Indian-American author Jhumpa Lahiri, whose translated books are popular among Hebrew readers, will discuss the space between writing and translating. In a gentle and intimate language Lahiri describes in her books the lives of immigrants, who are split between continents and worlds. In recent years Lahiri moved to Italy and began writing in Italian, translating herself into English and engaging in the craft of translation as a guide to writing. In a conversation with researcher Chiara Cardonna, the author will talk about the limitations of language and the ability of literature to move between languages, spread beyond borders and disputes, and establish a broad cultural base for a human experience.
