Scholas Citizenship is an educational program of Scholas Occurrentes that aims to promote the social commitment and participation of youth, starting from their own experiences and concerns, to produce positive changes in themselves and their communities. Pope Francis, who founded the Scholas organization to promote education among the world's poor, is sponsoring the congress and emphasized the high importance of having this project in Jerusalem. With the Interreligious Citizenship Encounter, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Scholas reunite answering Pope Francis’ call to create a culture of encounter among youth, applying the yearly wisdom of the University, with the foundation’s intuition and expertise.
